    Degree Town and Regional Planning (NQF7); Must be Registered with the South African Council for Town and Regional Planners as Professional Town and Regional Planner; Minimum 5 years’ relevant experience including 2 years in management position or supervision of subordinates; Drivers licence Code B/ 08.

    Duties:

    Manages the Spatial Planning functionality, aligning functional key performance area and procedures necessary to enable interpretation and translation of strategic intent encompassed in the Integrated Development Plan, and directing the preparation, implementation, monitoring, review and communication of the Integrated Spatial Planning System to promote integrated and sustainable Spatial Planning. In compliance with international, national and provincial environmental legislation and policy, and in support of the IDP, prepare and implements a climate change programmes, a biodiversity and related natural resource plans, and an environmental assessment and review protocol aimed at achieving sustainable development and protection of the Municipality’s environmental and biodiversity assets. Coordinates the assessment, evaluation and comments on developmental applications as per adopted category relating to Spatial Planning i.e. establishment of township, amendment of scheme/ rezoning of land, subdivision and consolidation of land, in order to ensure applications conform to laid don legislative requirements, town planning schemes and regulations prior to the approval been granted. Managing planning and development related projects to ensure that planning and development projects deemed necessary by the Section are implemented.
